The app
Snug runs on your Mac and has no account and no servers. Your clipboard history stays in a database on your Mac. Your keys and passwords stay in the macOS Keychain. The app sends nothing to us: no telemetry, no crash reports, no usage counts.
The app goes online only for you: when a program you allowed calls its own API through the proxy; when a link card fetches the title and the picture of its page; when you connect an account with OAuth; and once a day to check snug.so for a new version, a request that carries only the app's name and version.
When you enter a license key, the app checks it with Polar, the service that sells Snug, and checks it again from time to time while the app runs. It sends only the key, the activation id and your Mac's model.
